History

OF RUMDEL CAPE

 

Rumdel Cape has its roots in WJM Construction which was established in Cape Town in 1960. Rumdel Cape came into existence in 1999 after a management buyout from Rumdel Holdings. Some historical milestones are shown below:

 

1982:

WJM Construction (Zululand) (Pty) Ltd established in Richards Bay.

1983:

WJM Construction (Zululand) expands into the Transkei and the former provinces of Natal and the Eastern Cape.

1988:

WJM Construction (Zululand) establishes administrative offices in Port Elizabeth.

1991:

Rumdel Construction (Pty) Ltd is established from the management buyout of WJM Construction (Zululand) from the WJM group. The first directors of Rumdel Construction are John Rumble, Barry De Lacy, Peter De Lacy and Hendrik Boshoff. Rumdel Construction establishes administrative offices in East London.

1994:

Rumdel Construction establishes administrative offices in Durban.

1999:

Rumdel Construction (Cape) (Pty) Ltd is established as an operating subsidiary of Rumdel Holdings (Ltd).

2004:

John Rumble and Barry De Lacy retire and Peter De Lacy purchases Rumdel Cape from Rumdel Holdings.
