22 Feb N3 Ashburton & Lynnfield Road Upgrades to Begin in April
With our own personal ‘road blocks’ due to the ever-threatening pandemic and its second wave, construction work has been somewhat slow across the board for our Eastern Cape Engineering Company and we have been counting our blessings, grateful for each new project that comes our way. One of which we are particularly thankful for is the upgrading of National Route 3 (sections 2 & 3), from Lynnfield Park to Ashburton, KwaZulu-Natal. We have recently started with site establishment and will begin the actual roadworks in April.
The project is set to stretch across 4.6km’s in total, with the southern project limit being km 30.6 on N3-2, south of the Lynnfield Interchange, and the northern project limit being km 0.8 N3-3, south of the Ashburton Interchange.
A Sizeable Undertaking for Our Eastern Cape Engineering Company
In addition to the construction of the N3, there will also be work done on both the R103 and the MR477. This work forms part of the main contract.
These upgrades will go a long way to improving traffic flow and deterring congestion. The project is estimated to be complete in 3.5 years and we have been quite happy with the progress of the site establishment so far. We will be doing everything we can to ensure that the project meets its deadlines, allowing for timeous completion.
